Free Scoring Meaning in Cricket

Free scoring describes a situation where a batter makes runs easily without facing much pressure from the bowlers. This happens when the bowling team delivers many loose balls that are simple to hit for boundaries. The batting side increases their total score rapidly during these comfortable periods of the game. Fielders often struggle to stop the ball because the batter finds every open space. One batter scored fifty runs in only twenty balls while the bowlers missed their targets. This state of play often occurs when the pitch is very flat and easy. Batters remain relaxed and swing the bat with great confidence to maintain a high run rate. Coaches encourage players to take full advantage of these moments to build a massive lead. Dominating the game in this way often forces the opposing captain to change tactics.
