Exposed tail refers to a situation where the less skilled batters must start playing. These players are typically the bowlers who do not specialize in hitting the ball well. This happens after the main batters in the team have all been dismissed already. The bowling team attacks these players with high speed and very aggressive field settings. The fast bowler targeted the exposed tail to finish the game very quickly now. This phase is a great opportunity for the fielding side to end the innings. Batters in this position try to survive as long as possible to help. Teams with a strong tail can score vital extra runs in a close match. Most captains use their best bowlers to dismiss these players without any delay.
