The crease consists of white painted lines on the grass that mark the safe zones for the batter and bowler. Batters must keep a foot or their bat behind this line to avoid being stumped or run out during play.
Example: The runner dived for the crease just in time to beat the fielder’s direct hit at the wickets.
Pro-Tip: For bowlers, stepping over the front crease line results in a ‘No Ball’ and a penalty run for the other team.
