A leg bye is a run scored when the ball hits the batter’s body or protective pads instead of the bat. For these runs to count, the batter must have tried to play a shot or attempted to move out of the way.
Example: The ball deflected off the batter’s thigh pad, and the pair sprinted for a quick leg bye while the keeper chased it.
Pro-Tip: Leg byes are added to the team’s total as extras and do not count toward the individual batter’s score.
