An inside-out shot is a spectacular batting move where the player backs away toward the leg side to hit a ball over the covers on the off side. This unconventional stroke requires excellent footwork and timing to slice the ball high into the air over the infield.
Example: The batter moved his feet perfectly to play an inside-out shot over the fielder’s head for a boundary four.
Pro-Tip: This shot is most commonly used against spin bowlers to disrupt their line and length. By moving ‘inside’ the line of the ball, the batter creates their own space to hit toward an area that the captain usually leaves undefended.
