A leg glance is an elegant shot where the batter uses the ball’s own momentum to deflect it toward the fine leg area. Instead of hitting the ball hard, the player simply turns the face of the bat at the moment of impact to guide the delivery behind them.
Example: The batter used a flick of the wrists to play a leg glance for a quick two runs as the ball passed his pads.
Pro-Tip: This shot is highly productive against very fast bowlers who aim at the batter’s legs. Since the ball is already traveling fast, the batter only needs to provide a tiny change in direction to send it racing toward the boundary fence.
