Sit-Out Meaning in Wrestling

A sit-out is an escape move from the bottom. You sit your hips out to one side. This creates space between bodies. Your upper body turns toward your opponent. Control weakens as space increases. From here, you can escape or switch. Quick hip movement is important. Staying tight prevents counters. For example, a wrestler hits a fast sit-out. He turns and gains control from behind. The referee awards a reversal. Sit-outs rely on timing and balance. Clean movement makes them effective.
