A Russian tie is a type of two-on-one control. You grip the opponent’s arm tightly near the wrist. Your other hand controls above the elbow. Then you step to the outside. This creates a strong angle. The opponent struggles to square up. You can attack from this position easily. Movement stays active and quick. For example, a wrestler uses a Russian tie. He circles and shoots for a takedown. The referee signals points after control. Russian ties reward good footwork. Proper angles increase success.
