A figure four is a leg hold where you lock your legs in a “4” shape around part of your opponent’s body. This creates strong pressure and control. It is often used to trap a leg or arm. The locked position makes it hard to break free. Balance and tight pressure are important. It can help turn your opponent to their back. For example, a wrestler locks a figure four around the opponent’s leg. The opponent cannot pull the leg out. Control stays secure on top. A tight lock increases pressure and stability.
