Arm Bar Meaning in Wrestling

An arm bar is when you trap and control your opponent’s arm to limit movement. You keep the arm extended or bent to stop escapes. This gives you better control from the top. It is used to set up turns or tilts. Balance and pressure must stay steady.

For example, a wrestler controls the arm and drives forward. The opponent cannot turn to face him. The referee watches for control. Strong arm control creates scoring chances.
