A foot sweep is a quick move where you use your foot to knock your opponent’s foot off the mat. It takes away their balance for a moment. You combine it with upper body control to bring them down. Speed and timing are critical. It works best when they are stepping forward. Example: As an opponent steps in, a wrestler sweeps the foot and pulls them down. The referee signals a takedown.
