A four-point near fall happens when you hold your opponent’s back close to the mat for several seconds. The referee counts while the shoulders are nearly down. If control is held long enough, four points are given. It rewards strong turning control. Example: A wrestler turns his opponent and keeps his back exposed. After the count, the referee signals four near-fall points.
