Passivity Meaning in Wrestling

Passivity is when a wrestler is not attacking or trying to score. It includes backing up too much or avoiding contact. Referees watch for effort and forward action. If a wrestler stays inactive, they can be warned or penalized. The goal is to keep the match aggressive and fair. Example: A wrestler keeps circling away without attempting any moves. The referee stops the action and gives a passivity warning.
