A top lock is a control position where you trap your opponent’s arm tightly while standing. You hold their arm over yours to limit their movement and set up a throw. It is often used to counter an underhook. Strong grip and body position are important. Example: A wrestler secures a top lock as his opponent reaches in. He quickly turns and throws him to the mat for points.
