Game point happens when a player needs one more point to win the current game. The game could be early or late in a set. Winning that point gives them the game immediately. However, they must still win by two points if the score reaches deuce. Players often serve more carefully on game point. For example, the score is 40-15. The server now has two game points. If they win either of the next points, they win the game. Game points help players stay ahead during a set.
