A forehand is a groundstroke hit with the front of the body facing the ball. Right handed players swing on the right side. Left handed players swing on the left side. Most players use one hand for this shot. It often feels natural and powerful. Players generate pace using hip and shoulder rotation. The forehand usually becomes a player’s main attacking weapon. For example, a player steps inside the court and drives a forehand crosscourt. The opponent struggles to return it. Strong forehands control rallies and create winning chances.
