Bagel Meaning in Tennis

Bagel is a slang term for winning a set 6-0. The losing player does not win a single game in that set. The number zero resembles the shape of a bagel. Although informal, the term is widely used. A bagel shows total dominance in that set. However, matches can still continue afterward.

For example, a player wins the first set 6-0. The opponent struggles to hold serve even once. That set is called a bagel. It reflects one-sided performance during those games.
