The collision point is the exact place where the cue ball and the object ball meet. Identifying this spot is the goal of every aiming system, including the ghost ball method. Where these two balls touch determines the direction the object ball will travel toward the pocket. If you hit the collision point off by just a millimeter, the ball will likely miss. Skilled players visualize this point before they even bend down to take their stance. For example, a player focuses on the collision point on the back of the nine ball to slice it into the corner. By hitting that exact spot, they ensure the energy transfers in the correct direction. It is the ‘moment of truth’ for every shot in billiards.
