A finger bridge is a hand position on the table where your fingers support and guide the cue stick. Most players use their index finger and thumb to create a stable ‘V’ or ‘loop’ for the cue to slide through. A solid finger bridge is vital for preventing the cue from wobbling during the swing. For example, a player uses a closed finger bridge to lock the cue in place for a high-power break shot. This ensures the tip hits the exact center of the cue ball every time. It is the most fundamental part of a player’s physical connection to the table.
