A decline in cycling refers to any section of the road or trail that slopes downward. These areas allow a cyclist to gain speed quickly by using the force of gravity. For example, a cyclist reaches the top of a difficult mountain pass and enjoys a five-mile decline. They use their brakes gently to stay in control while flying through the winding forest curves.
