Manual Meaning in Cycling

A manual is a technical mountain bike skill where you balance on the rear wheel. Unlike a wheelie, you do not use the pedals to keep the front wheel off the ground. Instead, you use your body weight and shifts in your center of gravity to stay balanced. This move is essential for maintaining speed while crossing over bumps or through dips in the trail.
