Rollers are a type of stationary training device used to ride a bicycle indoors. Unlike a standard trainer that clips onto the back of the bike, rollers consist of three cylinders that the bike sits on freely. You must balance the bike yourself while pedaling, which makes it feel much more like riding on the actual road. This requires constant focus and good core strength to keep the bike from sliding off the sides. Rollers are excellent for improving your pedaling technique and your ability to ride in a straight line. They are often used by track racers to warm up before a big event because they allow for high-speed spinning. For example, a cyclist might use rollers in their garage during a rainy day to keep their balance skills sharp. It takes some practice to get started, but it is one of the best ways to master bike control. They are a classic tool for serious athletes.
