For example, a rider might aim for a weekly stress score to ensure they are improving without burning out. By tracking these scores over time, you can see if you are building fitness or becoming dangerously tired. I find that using a stress score is a great way to be honest with yourself about your training load. It prevents you from doing too much too soon and helps you plan for important events or races. Most cycling apps calculate this automatically using your heart rate or power meter data from the ride. It is a vital tool for anyone who wants to balance hard work with effective rest.
