The mid-thigh pull describes a specific point where the barbell reaches the middle of the leg. This position marks the start of the final explosive drive to move the weight upward. Lifters must keep their chest up and shoulders over the bar at this height. A weightlifter paused at this point to check their balance before jumping with the bar.
