A warm-up attempt consists of a lift performed backstage to prepare for the official competition platform. These lifts start very light and gradually increase to reach the weight of the first official try. The timing of these attempts is critical to ensure the athlete is ready at the right moment. Coaches watch the progress of the meet to tell the athlete when to take each practice lift. A lifter performs a final warm-up with ninety kilograms before stepping out to lift ninety five. This process helps the athlete find their rhythm and build the confidence needed for the main event. Proper execution of these practice lifts prevents the athlete from feeling cold or stiff during the race.
