Shooting Player Meaning in Netball

A shooting player is one of the two members of a team allowed to score. This term refers specifically to the goal shooter and the goal attack positions on court. These players are the only ones permitted to enter the attacking goal circle to take a shot. They must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to remain calm during high-pressure moments. A shooting player receives a pass and immediately looks toward the ring to score a point. These athletes spend a large portion of their training time perfecting their various shooting techniques. The success of the team often depends on the accuracy and movement of these two specialized players. One real-world example shows the goal attack passing to the other shooting player for a goal.
