Definition: An inning is a division of a baseball game during which each team has one turn at bat and one turn in the field. A standard professional game lasts nine innings, and each half-inning ends once the defensive team records three outs.
Example: The home team was losing by one run, but they had one last chance to score in the bottom of the ninth inning.
