Mid-court refers to the central area of the playing field near the line. This zone is the primary battleground where most throws and catches occur. Players gather at the center to retrieve balls during the opening rush. Controlling this space allows a team to dictate the tempo of play. Standing in mid-court makes throws shorter and much more accurate for attackers. However this position also leaves players closer to the incoming fire of opponents. Athletes must decide when to hold mid-court and when to retreat back. Balancing aggression and safety is the key to mastering this central area.
