Passing Meaning in Dodgeball

Passing is the act of tossing a ball to a teammate rather than the opponent. This teamwork allows a more skilled thrower to take a shot from a better angle. A player slides a ball across the floor to a teammate near the midline. This movement keeps the ball in the hands of the most effective offensive players. Passing can also be used to reset the five second clock and avoid a violation. It is important to pass safely to ensure the ball is not dropped or stolen. Clear communication ensures the receiving player is ready to catch the ball without being hit. Effective passing turns individual efforts into a coordinated and very dangerous team strategy.
