Recovery describes the process of regaining a stable position after making a defensive move. This involves returning to the ready stance after diving, jumping, or dodging a throw. A player dives to avoid a ball and quickly stands back up again. Fast recovery is essential because opponents often throw multiple balls in very rapid succession. A player who stays on the ground too long becomes an easy target. Training focuses on leg strength and core stability to make these transitions much faster. Efficient recovery allows an athlete to prepare for the next incoming threat without any delay. Staying mobile through quick recovery keeps a defender active for much longer periods.
