Rookie Meaning in Baseball

Definition: A rookie is a player who is in their first full season of playing in the Major Leagues. A player keeps their rookie status until they have played enough games or had enough turns at bat to be considered an experienced veteran.

Example: Even though he was a rookie, the young pitcher played with the confidence of someone who had been in the league for ten years.
