Modified Pitch Meaning in Softball

Modified pitch is a style of softball that limits the pitching motion used during the game. Unlike fastpitch the pitcher does not perform a full 360 degree windmill arm circle. The arm may move in an arc but it cannot go over the shoulder. This style results in slower pitch speeds compared to the intense fastpitch version of sport.
