Definition: The Major Leagues (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the world, consisting of 30 teams divided into the American League and the National League. It is where the most skilled players compete for the World Series title.
Commonly called “The Show,” the Major Leagues represent the top of the professional ladder. Players who make it to this level have successfully worked their way up through the youth and minor league systems. Major League games are played in large stadiums and are the primary focus of fans and media globally.
Example: After five years of playing in smaller towns, the pitcher finally got the call to play in the Major Leagues.
