Bounce Pass Meaning in Handball

A bounce pass travels between two teammates by hitting the floor once during its flight. The passer aims the ball at a spot roughly two-thirds of the distance. This technique helps the ball move under the outstretched arms of a tall defender. It is particularly useful when passing to a teammate located inside the defensive line.

The ball must bounce with enough force to reach the receiver at waist height. A center back bounces the ball to a teammate near the goal area line. This pass creates a scoring opportunity by bypassing a defender who is blocking high. Players use the bounce pass to navigate through crowded areas of the handball court.

Mastering the angle of the bounce ensures the ball does not move too slowly. Using a bounce pass reduces the chance of a defender intercepting the handball.
