A feint shot is a specific type of deception used during the shooting motion. The player begins a standard throw but stops or changes the ball’s path. This action aims to make the goalkeeper jump or dive too early. Once the goalkeeper is out of position, the player shoots into the opening. It requires incredible wrist control and timing to execute this move successfully. An attacker fakes a high shot and then lobs the ball over. This change in speed and height makes it impossible for the goalkeeper to save. Players often use feint shots when they have plenty of time and space. This technique is especially effective during seven meter penalty throws against the goalkeeper. Constant practice helps players make their feints look identical to real shots.
