Ude-Hishigi-Sankaku-Gatame is a triangle arm lock executed using a leg configuration. The attacker traps the neck and arm of the defender with the legs. While maintaining the triangle, the player stretches the arm across the thigh. This dual attack creates pressure on both the neck and the elbow. One game example involves a player forcing a submission from the guard position. The attacker must lock the feet behind the knee for a secure hold. Proper execution involves lifting the hips to increase the tension on the joint. Success depends on the ability to keep the defender from standing up. Strategy involves using the legs to break the posture of the opponent first. This technique is a very advanced and effective ground fighting skill.
