The high line is a racing path located near the outside wall. Drivers use this lane to carry more momentum through the wide corners of tracks. While the distance is longer, the arc is less sharp than the bottom. This allows the engine to stay at higher revolutions per minute for longer. A driver used the high line to sweep past a slower car. Moving to the top of the track can help cool the tires down. Some tracks only become fast in the high line after rubber builds up. If a car gets too close to the wall, it may crash. Choosing the high line requires great bravery and precise control of the steering.
