Taikyoku Sandan Meaning in Karate

Taikyoku Sandan is the third introductory form and introduces the middle level block and back stance. This pattern requires the practitioner to use a narrower and more defensive posture during the side movements. It teaches the student how to protect the chest area while transitioning between different types of stances. The form features a combination of inner blocks and middle punches to build basic defensive coordination. Practitioners must focus on shifting their weight correctly when moving from a front stance to back.
