An uneven bars dismount is the final move to leave the bars. The gymnast swings around the bar to build up a large momentum. The athlete releases the bar at the peak of the back swing. During the flight, the gymnast performs a flip or a twist move. The move ends when the gymnast lands on the floor mat. This skill marks the conclusion of the entire uneven bars routine. A gymnast executes a double back flip as a difficult bars dismount. The athlete must push off the bar with the palms very hard. Keeping the legs together in the air creates a clean body line. The gymnast must spot the landing mat to prepare for the impact. Landing with a still and upright body is called a stick. This move is the last chance to impress the judges for points. The athlete uses the arms to balance the body during the landing. High vertical height allows more time to finish the flips safely. A solid landing proves the gymnast has total control of the body.
