Rings Front Lever Meaning in Gymnastics

A rings front lever is a horizontal hold facing up. The gymnast hangs from the rings with the body straight. The athlete holds the body parallel to the floor with chest up. The arms stay straight and are pulled down toward the hips. This position requires immense core and back pulling strength for stability. The gymnast must stay still for at least two seconds. A gymnast executes a front lever to show their static strength. The athlete must keep the legs together and the toes pointed. Squeezing the shoulder blades together helps the gymnast stay perfectly flat. The gymnast must look at the ceiling to maintain the line. Judges look for a lack of sagging in the hips. This move builds the foundation for many other ring strength skills. Strong lat muscles provide the power to hold the horizontal body. The gymnast must maintain a very tight grip on the rings. Consistent training allows the athlete to hold the position without shaking.
