A fast push is a flat shot directed toward the midcourt area. The player uses a quick flick of the wrist to strike shuttlecock. This shot aims to get the shuttlecock behind the front court player. It travels with high speed but remains low to avoid being smashed. This move is very common in doubles matches to create attacking gaps. A player at the net catches a short return early and fast. They push the shuttlecock quickly past the opponent standing at the net. This force forces the back player to move sideways to save point. Keeping the racket head up allows for a faster reaction for pushes. Short and crisp contact generates the speed needed for this specific shot. Pushing the shuttlecock into open spaces creates immediate pressure on the defense.
