Oblique Kick Meaning in Mixed Martial Arts

An oblique kick is a linear strike directed at the area just above the knee. The fighter pushes their foot forward in a stomping motion toward the opponent’s leg. This strike is designed to disrupt the advance of an aggressive attacking adversary. Impacting the thigh just above the joint can cause the knee to buckle backward.
