Slow spin bowlers also use this method to maintain a consistent bowling rhythm. The reduced momentum requires more upper-body strength to generate the necessary pace. Bowlers find it easier to hit a specific landing spot with fewer steps.

This change can sometimes surprise a batsman who expects a much faster approach. A tired fast bowler takes five steps instead of fifteen to bowl. Focusing on the final leap ensures the delivery remains accurate despite the speed. Consistency in the shortened stride length helps maintain the proper bowling line.
