Above the eye line describes a ball that flies higher than the batsman vision. Spin bowlers use this flight to deceive the player about the landing spot. The ball arcs upward and then drops sharply onto the pitch near the bat. This height makes the batsman look up and lose track of the ground. It often tempts the player to jump forward and hit the ball early. Professional bowlers use this trick to get the batsman out of their crease. The high trajectory creates more time for the ball to curve in air. A slow bowler tosses the ball high to invite a big hitting shot. Controlling the release point allows the bowler to master this difficult flight path. This tactic works best when the batsman feels impatient to score quick runs.
