Attempt Meaning in Weightlifting

An attempt refers to a single formal try to lift a specific weight. Every lifter usually receives three chances for the snatch and three for the clean. Officials signal a successful attempt with white lights after the lifter completes the movement.

A lifter steps onto the wooden platform to perform their first snatch attempt. Concentrating on consistent technique during each attempt leads to a higher total score. Missing an early attempt often forces a lifter to repeat the same weight.
