A backhand net lift is a high shot hit from the front. The player uses the backhand side of the racket near the net. This shot travels high and deep toward the back boundary line. It forces the opponent to move away from the net to defend.
This move creates space and time for the player to reset their position. A player lunges forward to reach a very tight net drop shot. The racket flick sends the shuttlecock high over the opponent at the net. This clear lift prevents the other player from hitting a winning kill.
Using a light grip allows for more wrist snap during the lift. Players aim for the back corners to make the return more difficult. Proper lunging technique ensures the player reaches the net with good balance.
