Banking refers to the sloping or tilted surface of a racetrack on the turns. This incline uses physics to help cars travel through corners at much higher speeds. Higher angles of banking allow vehicles to maintain more momentum without sliding outward. Flat tracks require drivers to brake much harder before entering a narrow or sharp turn.
