Bob and weave describes a defensive movement under punches. The boxer bends the knees and lowers the body. Then the boxer moves in a U-shaped motion.
This action avoids hooks aimed at the head. After rising, the boxer often throws a counterpunch. For example, Mike Tyson used bob and weave to enter close range safely. His movement kept him under taller opponents’ punches. The technique requires strong leg strength. Poor timing can lead to danger. When done correctly, it closes the distance effectively. Bob and weave combines defense with forward pressure.
