Bush League Meaning in Baseball

Definition: Bush league is a slang term used to describe behavior, plays, or conditions that are unprofessional, amateurish, or “cheap.” It originally referred to the “bush leagues,” which were small-town, low-level minor league teams that didn’t have the money or talent of the Major Leagues. Today, if a player does something unsportsmanlike—like taunting an opponent or using a trick that is considered “low class”—fans and announcers will call it “bush league.”

In baseball culture, there is a high standard for how players should act.
