Chukoku Meaning in Karate

Chukoku is the first level of warning given to a competitor in a karate match. This is a soft penalty used for minor rules violations like stepping out of bounds. It serves as a notice to the athlete that they must correct their behavior immediately. No points are awarded to the opponent at this stage of the penalty system in place.
